Behind the Talk

This one is personal.

I spent years learning how to perform under pressure. On the basketball court. In corporate America. As an entrepreneur.

But some of the most important lessons I’ve learned about performance came from understanding what happens when we finally give ourselves permission to stop.

This talk starts with rejection. It moves through grief, rest, healing, and a nap that became much bigger than a nap.

And ultimately, it’s an invitation to reconsider the relationship many of us have with rest.

The Big Idea

What if rest didn’t have to be earned?

So many of us have learned to treat rest like a reward for finishing everything, pushing hard enough, or finally reaching the point where our bodies give us no other choice.

Khaliah’s work asks us to think differently about the role recovery plays in how we live, lead, and perform.

The Room Has Spoken

She lit up the topic and the room and I would not hesitate to attend anything she facilitates in the future because I’m confident that I would walk away with the same experience and with broader knowledge on the subject!
